Hola Amigos

Thank you for looking at our Blog. We hope you enjoyed reading it. We really liked your comments, they were very interesting. We noticed that you have many more pupils than we do! Our whole school has around 460 pupils. Also, we noticed that you share your playground with older children, we share with younger and older children. You are very lucky to have three basketball courts and two football pitches, we have one of each. One thing we do like about our playground is the climbing frame and climbing wall.

We were wondering if you have a Behaviour Chart? In our school, every child has got coloured cards. Each child starts the day on a green card but if we are naughty, we change the card to the colour amber. We can have amber 1 and amber 2, amber 1 means we can lose 5 minutes of our break and amber 2 means we can lose 10 minutes of our break. We have also got an amber 3 card, if a child is naughty on three occasions, we can lose 15 minutes break and we can no longer try to get back to a green card.

We also have a red card for serious misbehaviour; if someone gets a red card, a letter is sent home to our parents and we have to see the Deputy Headteacher.

Though, we do have a gold card for when we do something really well or act very kindly to others. We also get a prize from our teacher when we get a gold card!

What happens if you are naughty? Do you miss playtime or have to stay in school for detention?

How well do you get along with your teachers? How many students are in each class. Here, there is a maximum of 30 children per class.

Overseas Friends

Hello Everyone,

We are Year 4, King Class. Our classes in Canonbury Primary School are all called after a famous person. Our class is named after Martin Luther King.

Our school has students from aged 3 to 11. We are aged eight and nine years old in King Class. We are learning Spanish; we have been learning Spanish for one year and 3 weeks! How long have you been learning English? Do you like it?

Our class teacher is Tanya and she is a really excellent teacher. We have special teachers for Art, Physical Education and Spanish. What is your teacher’s name and what are they like? We also are quite lucky to have a library in our school and lots of us love to read.

What lessons do you have each day? Do you have breaks to play outside? What is your playground like? Do you share it? Our school day starts at 8.55am and finishes at 15.30. How many days do you go to school per week? Our school days are from Monday to Friday.

Our school is in Islington, North London. It is very busy with lots of people, traffic, construction and loads of different types of shops. Nearby, we have lots of big parks where we go after school with our families.

Thank you for reading our blog!

We are looking forward to writing to you again soon!

From,

Rowling Post

Hello friends!

This is Rowling Class in Canonbury Primary School. At Canonbury, every class has a special name; our class is called Rowling after the author J.K. Rowling.  One of our lessons every week is Spanish and we would like to learn even more Spanish and find out about your school life in Madrid.

Most of the children in our class are eight years old, some are nine years old. In this school, we are educated very well. We have been learning Spanish for just over one year now and it is very enjoyable. We would like to know how  many English lessons do you have per week? How many languages do you learn?

Our teacher is Emma and she is lovely! However, we have different teachers for Physical Education, Art and Spanish. Do you have more than one teacher?

Do you wear a school uniform? We do, it’s an orange or light blue t-shirt, navy jumper and navy skirt or trousers.

Thank You for reading our first blog!
